Wear-sweatpants-week

It is finals week not wear-sweatpants-week!

I am not discriminating against sweats, but I don't want them to turn into a lifestyle. The are so many comfy pants out there that are a lot more attractive. Just because you feel overwhelmed and stressed out, there’s no need to dress like you just got out of bed. If you dress well, you will boost your self-esteem and you will study better.
Be one of the 5 students not wearing sweatpants this week!

Artificial beauty

During the past years, there is probably not one image that has not been retouched. Celebrities and models look artificial and perfect all the time. Perfection does not exist, so just be yourself and you will be as beautiful as you want to be!

Spanish general strike

Spain is going through a really hard time. Yesterday was the day of a general strike called in protest at the government's labor market reforms. With the EU's highest rate of unemployment, Spain is under pressure to reduce its budget deficit and bring its public finances under control.

In the capital, Madrid, 900.000 people took part in protest marches. Bus and rail services were kept to a minimum service.

The government insists the reforms will create a more flexible system for business and workers, in a country with a stagnant economy that needs to start creating jobs.

`Write the future´

I was impressed by this ad the first time I saw it! This is one of the most popular an innovative videos of 2010. With this campaign, Nike allow us to give a glimpse into the future to see what the players were really playing for.

‘Write the future’ was a very successcul campaign, increasing the orders for Nike products 7% globally. It also helped Nike to become the most shared brand online in 2010!

Do what you love

I've read an article by Susan Biali that talks about how being good at something doesn't mean you should be doing it. We have to make decisions every day; ones are more difficult than others.

I remember when I graduated from high school 3 years ago and I had to decide what degree I wanted to study at college. My family and my friends tried to help me but I thought it was a decision that only depended on me. I decided to study international business. I was not sure if that was the best decision at the time but now I know that I couldn't have made a better choice. I chose something that I am really passionate about. This give me a strong sense of purpose and it is part of my happiness.

Do what you really want to do. There is no reason not to follow your hearth. The world is rule but those who love what they do.

What a beautiful day!

Weather seems to influence human behavior in a variety of ways. Researchers in Germany sought to examine whether day-to-day weather affected people's moods. The studies suggest that temperature, wind, sunlight, rain and snow influence our emotions. The day's weather could seriously affect how we feel.

I have found in the Journal of Retailing and Consumer Services that weather also affects consumer decision making. Temperature, humidity, snow fall, and, especially sunlight, can affect retail sales. There is a positive relationship between exposure to sunlight and spending.

Mirror behavior

I am drinking coffe in Starbucks with my best friend Shellie and she just talked to her little cousin on the phone. She is 7 years old and she told her that she can't wait until Monday to show her nails to the girls in her school!

My little cousin is also always imitating what I do. She loves wearing my clothes and experimenting with my make up and hair stuff!

Children usually pattern themselves after what they see their parents or their older siblings do.I think the exposure to values and ideas are the strongest and most important influences that parents have over children in their lives but kids also imitate little things.

A recent study done at Yale University could not provide any explanation for why kids imitate adults actions, which suggests that it is an automatic action.
